Felt care instructions

Felt is made of wool fibres by using mechanical movement, heat and soap.

Wool is a natural fibre and repels dirt and water by itself. This is one of the great advantages of the fabric.

Therefore your felt product will naturally repel dirt and water and will need minimal cleaning.

  • Felt does not require regular washing, but a good airing after use in wet weather is probably a good idea.
  • Food stains can be removed by scraping and wiping with a damp cloth.
  • Wipe off liquid spills immediately.
  • When needed you can wash the product by hand following normal washing instructions for wool.
  • Avoid heavy mechanical movements and strong detergents.
  • Do not let felt soak for long periods; wash the product quite quickly in a bowl of water.
  • Squeeze extra water off.
  • Wool cannot be bleached.

If you need to wash some felted thing, please use mild detergent for wool.  Then carefully squeeze extra water off and shape your felt when needed. Then let it dry, best of all in the sun. Enjoy your felted thing again!
